Is severely advanced osteoporosis considered disabling?
After one lumbar vertebrae and one thoracic vertebrae fracture I saw a new doctor who ordered a bone density test. She determined that I had severely advanced osteoporosis that required emergency treatment using Reclast IV infusion. The doctor believed that I also had suffered broken ribs. However, without an MRI she was unable to confirm that because my ribs did not show up on the x-ray. Has anyone ever heard of this before? The doctor said that I could break most anything with a simple sneeze, twisting the wrong way. I'm only 49! Any information will be appreciated.
