I adopted a yellow nape mini macaw, he flew onto our patio one afternoon. We fed him some apple and water, he?

landed on my shoulder like i was his owner, seems tamed, friendly, very quiet, mumbles but can't understand what he is saying. Noone has claimed him, or have reported a missing parrot in our area. I haven't had a chance to take him to the vet. What are there characteristics?
