How does counseling work?

All age persons need counceling sometimes. I myself at 56 will be going next week. Any way I dont like sharing either. If a question seems too uncomfortable to answer just be honest and say you prefer not to answer that at this time. The councelor may just ask what makes you happy, mad, sad, anxious to get a feel for your problem. They may ask about your view on your future goals in life. Any accidents or trama in your life. A lot may be done by questions you fill out in paper work. I would presume and councelor with more then couple years experience could pick up on lies.But telling lies will only complicate the situation. You are allowed to ask him/ or her about their education. You are also allowed to request a different person if you really dont like the person igned you. Good luck.
