Do you find it funny how everyone ended up hooking up with someone that looked like them?

According to Psychology of Attraction you're supposed to and tend to be more attracted to someone from a similar ethnic background to yourself. You of course have no control over who you're physically attracted to but we're basically from birth with our genes and all programmed that way, of course many of us are attracted to people from racial groups other than our own but the Psychology books I read explained that we tend to settle for people with similar characteristics sometimes even less "admirable" than ourselves, but still similar as it gives us a sense of familiarity and stability.
