Crying lorikeet advise?

i found a baby cardinal last year over the summer. he had fallen out of his n est and since it was getting dark, i decided to put him in a small cage i had. he was quiet untill he saw me too. i would take him outside so that the parents could feed him and at night i would bring him back in. it lasted for like a week until he finally learned how to fly away. i think its normal and he just wants attention. my dove it the same. make sure you give him enough attention so that he doesnt feel lonely. hope it helps.
